Political assassinations – a long American tradition

Political assassinations – a long American tradition 1Charlie Kirk, a well-known and widely respected political debater, was shot dead in the middle of a debate at Utah Valley University in the United States. In front of an audience of 3,000 people, the attacker managed to shoot Kirk in the neck, and he later died from his injuries; the perpetrator is still at large.

Political assassinations and murders have a long tradition in the United States, from Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Robert F. Kennedy. We also have the assassination attempts on Reagan and Trump. In addition, acts of violence in schools are not a new phenomenon either, with students shooting at other students and often killing more than one person.

We can consider the United States a violent country, where the pioneer spirit still remains, where everyone must be able to defend themselves with weapons in a threatening social climate. At least, this is the image many want to paint. In reality, the Wild West was calmer than many would like to believe, and life was dominated by hard work and challenges in the form of disease, weather and wind. And less often by bank robberies and gunfights.

Liberal gun laws are also often blamed, but there are many guns in circulation even in countries such as Finland, Switzerland and others, without us having as many political and other murders. Therefore, it is easiest to blame the American character; they are wilder and more aggressive than us, it is built into their culture.

Anyone who wanted to undermine American society would probably follow the same recipe. Creating insecurity at universities will reduce the desire to study and improve oneself. Murders of political debaters signal that it is dangerous to have a different opinion or to debate too extensively.

It is best to keep quiet and stay away from universities and colleges. Various narcotic substances are available, both legal and illegal, to dampen any anxiety and anger. Sit at home, eat and watch TV, don’t get involved in social debate, shut up and vegetate until you die and your ashes are scattered over a grove.

Human beings are no longer unique and beautiful, they are fat, smelly, ugly and mostly a burden on the planet. We hate each other and we hate ourselves. The beautiful, eternal and wonderful are gone, replaced by the worn, temporary and ugly.

It is high time to reverse this trend, which leads nowhere and is merely destructive. It is time to make the world beautiful and interesting again. Often, all it takes is to raise your gaze a little.
