Do the Democrats have any more aces up their sleeve?

Do the Democrats have any more aces up their sleeve? 1Although Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris hasn’t done any recent interviews or debates, launched her campaign promises, or even been properly elected in the primaries, she continues to be a media darling. And in the polls, she is on par with Trump.

Not bad for a formerly unpopular and reviled vice president. With gossip about relationships with senior Democratic politicians boosting her career. She is also portrayed as a poor speaker or debater, often losing her train of thought and laughing out loud. Maybe that’s why Biden chose the ‘impossible Kamala’ as his vice-president, to ensure he wouldn’t be outmaneuvered? But now he is finally out of the game, and the Democrats are stuck with Kamala.

Meanwhile, the Trump train is rolling like never before, most recently joined by Robert F Kennedy, who abandoned his own campaign to support the Republican candidate. A political move rarely seen in the US. Now Trump has consolidated with the old classic Democrats who no longer recognise themselves in the woke and rainbow version of the party. At the same time, he is attracting Republican voters and independents looking for common sense and stability.

So what will the Democrats do? How will they win the election? Do the Democrats have any more aces up their sleeve?

I wouldn’t dismiss more attacks on Trump, Vance or Kennedy. When the deep state feels threatened, it has dangerous forces on its side, either direct or indirect, that can act more or less rationally. If they could somehow get Trump out of the way, victory would be more accessible.

Putting Trump in jail is another option, but at the time of writing it seems that he has managed to fend off most of the charges, and he has the law on his side. Kudos to the increasingly banana republic-like justice system in the US.

Expect lavish smear campaigns from the media. Already it is being pumped out that Kennedy sold cocaine when he was at university. There are no inhibitions here, paid witnesses, corrupt old friends, all will be used to smear Trump and his campaign. The question is, haven’t people had enough? Can more shit be pumped out?

Kamala Harris could also be replaced at the last minute by a more charismatic candidate. There has been talk of Michelle Obama, who is very popular in some circles, but I would argue that even she doesn’t quite have the gift of the gab to stand up to Trump. They may have more candidates, but the longer time goes on, the harder it will be for the new one to build momentum.

Then, of course, there is voter fraud. Many states still don’t require ID to vote in the presidential election, only 36 do at the moment, but more are on the way. The ID requirement makes voter fraud much more difficult and will require increasingly sophisticated methods. Maybe this is the last chance for the Democrats?

There is also the theoretical possibility of declaring a state of emergency in the event of a pandemic, war or other disaster. This could stave off elections for a while and blame unforeseen events. But note that the US has a unique democratic history where elections were held even during the burning civil war in the 1860s. Not like Ukraine, where Zelensky postponed the elections and basically proclaimed himself autocrat.

Finally, can Kamala win the election on her own? Well, the candidate’s failure to give interviews or present her election platform in time is unlikely to help her get more votes, at least not among politically interested voters. Will people vote for Kamala because she is Kamala? Well, who knows? The more people see through the Democrats’ warmongering and corrupt nature, the fewer votes they will get. And the fact that they have kept Biden’s increasing senility a secret for a long time is also considered a betrayal. On top of that we have the border crisis, the social problems, the rolling billions to Ukraine, inflation, the bad economy etc etc.

What will it be? The election of Donald Trump as president in November is by no means certain. The unforeseen can still happen.
